I think about it
All the battles I won
I felt pathetic
cause it burned out my sun
I counted fingers
And it came down to one
Cause making friends it figures
Was like picking out a gun
Hey Hey
You feel like a Lonestar
Well let me take the weight
From your tired eyes
They’ll make you feel like a monster
Forget it —- it’s good to be
Alone. Star.
Well, it was often on my taste buds hey!
A taste of something I could never be
When I was young it was the reason I would run
I would take it on the cheek
Now a bite it off they tongue
Hey Hey
You feel like a Lonestar
Well let me take the weight
From your tired eyes
They’ll make you feel like a monster
Forget it —- it’s good to be
Alone. Star.
Don’t kick me off of my wave boy
Start with me you’ll likely catch the fade boy
You think that I could never be saved, boy
You musta forgot
That I’m a tricky sicky one
I get it I got
I found it my self
I got rid of the haters
It was bad for my health
I counted fingers it came down to one
Cause makin’ friends in LA was like pickin’ out a gun
Hey Hey
You feel like a Lonestar
Well let me take the weight
From your tired eyes
They’ll make you feel like a monster
Forget it —- it’s good to be
Alone. Star.
Don’t kick me off of my wave boy
Start with me you’ll likely catch the fade boy
You think that I could never be saved, boy
You musta forgot
That I’m a tricky sticky one
Alvvays has always been great, but with this album they took it to the next level. Every one of these songs is lodged in my brain now, permanently (in a good way). s. moxley
I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop
Sparkling synthpop with an emphasis on high-wattage chords and the kind of melodies that burrow themselves deep in the brain. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 1, 2023
This is undoubtedly my single favorite album of all time. It feels like such a perfect culmination of all the themes and ideas Fleet Foxes has been working with since 2008. It answers many of the questions found on both Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up, and represents an incredible maturation and growth in Robin Pecknold's perspective. Their other albums are certainly masterpieces, but this, in my opinion, is their magnum opus. I doubt it will be recognized as such in its time. isaiah_stuart
